Press Release: British Tomato Fortnight 2026 launches with a call to snack smarter – the British Tomato way
Press release
7th May 2026
British Tomato Fortnight returns from 1st to 14th June 2026, celebrating the unbeatable flavour, versatility, health benefits and sustainability of home‑grown tomatoes — and this year, our main campaign theme is snacking!
With more and more UK consumers now choosing snacks based on nutritional value, British Tomato Fortnight 2026 is championing tomatoes as the go‑to snack for every occasion: from family lunchboxes to sophisticated wine pairings to the perfect bite for watching the World Cup this June.
A season of flavour, creativity and pride in British produce
This year’s campaign highlights, led by Jack and Grace Communications:
Tomatoes as the number one snack (and match for every meal) — celebrating their flavour, flexibility and everyday appeal.
The health and sustainability benefits of choosing British — from reduced food miles to supporting the UK economy, and supporting the health of the nation.
The growers behind the glass — spotlighting the expertise, care and innovation that make British tomatoes the gold standard.
Veg Power joins the table again
This year, Veg Power will collaborate with the campaign to create family‑friendly, health-focused recipes, designed to inspire children’s appetites, support healthy eating habits, and make tomatoes an everyday staple for households across the UK.
Fresh recipes, football fever and snack inspiration
British Tomato Fortnight will feature:
New snack‑focused recipes from Scottish author and creator Flora Shedden, developed exclusively for the campaign and shared across social channels and the website.
Influencers creating the ultimate World Cup game‑day tomato snacks, such as bruschetta to tomato‑feta bites, showing families how easy, healthy and delicious tomato snacking can be during the summer of football.
Grower stories, including their favourite things about growing tomatoes, plus how they like to eat them.
Farm Fest: meeting 60,000 consumers face‑to‑face
For the first time, British Tomato Fortnight will host a farmers’ market‑style stand at the Great British Farm Fest, taking place between 22nd and 24th July, where an expected 60,000 attendees will have the chance to meet growers, taste tomatoes, ask questions and discover new snack ideas. This aligns with the campaign’s commitment to celebrate growers and deepen consumer connection to British produce.
Partnerships and pairings: from wine to unexpected delights
Partnerships remain a cornerstone of the campaign, and we have some fun and exciting ones in store this year. From Northern Pasta Co to Charlie & Lola and more, our partnerships will explore unusual and exciting flavour pairings and getting kids to eat more tomatoes! As ever we will be showcasing the versatility of tomatoes in both every day and elevated snacking moments. There may be a giveaway or two in store as well…
Toms Drops: getting the nation talking
Beautifully curated boxes of British tomatoes will be sent to chefs, influencers, broadcasters and content creators. Last year, these drops generated excellent tomato dialogue, and 2026 aims to go even bigger, targeting more radio, TV and digital tastemakers to spark conversation nationwide.
A season-long celebration
The campaign has already started, and activity will continue through to July, building momentum for the pinnacle of The Fortnight from the 1st June - with giveaways, evergreen recipes, grower stories, influencer content and partnerships — all designed to inspire the nation to enjoy and snack on British tomatoes all summer long.
