Terms and Conditions – British Tomato Growers Association x Hachette Children’s Group

The promoter is The British Tomato Growers’ Association, whose registered office is at Rural Innovation Centre, Avenue H, Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, CV8 2LG.

 This competition will run across Instagram. To enter, participants must:

  • Follow @britishtomatoes and @hachettechildrens

  • Like the giveaway post

  • Tag at least one person in the comments

  • Bonus entry: Participants can share tomato doodles in their story, tagging @britishtomatoes, for an extra chance of winning

The prize is one (1) Special Birthday edition of the “I will not ever never at a tomato” book by Lauren Child and (1) delivery of fresh British tomatoes. No cash or alternative prize will be offered. The prize is not transferable.

The promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with another of equivalent value without notice if necessary.

Entries open on Tuesday 12th May and close at 12:00am on Tuesday 26th July 2026. After this time, no further entries will be accepted.

Entrants must be aged 18 or over and reside in mainland UK.

No purchase is necessary to enter this competition. Entry is free.

Automated, bulk, or third-party entries will be disqualified.

By entering this competition, entrants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

The promoter accepts no responsibility for entries not received due to technical issues or any other reason.

The winner will be chosen at random and announced within three (3) working days of the competition closing. The promoter will notify the winner via Instagram and arrange prize delivery.

If the winner does not respond within 24 hours of notification, the promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

Personal data will be handled in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be shared with third parties without consent. Address will be shared with the Tomato nursery and Hachette Children’s group for the delivery of the win.

The promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrant found to be breaching these terms, any applicable law, or the rights of any other person (including copyright and intellectual property rights).

The promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The promoter reserves the right to cancel, amend, or modify the competition and these terms at any time without prior notice.

Entry to the competition will be deemed as full acceptance of these terms and conditions.


Terms & Conditions -British Tomato Growers’ Association Farm Fest Event Competition

1. Promoter

The promoter is The British Tomato Growers’ Association, whose registered office is at Rural Innovation Centre, Avenue H, Stoneleigh Park, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, CV8 2LG.

2. Eligibility

  • Open to UK residents aged 10 and over.

  • Employees, contractors, or immediate family members of the promoter are not eligible.

  • Entrants under 16 must have permission from a parent or guardian.

3. How to Enter

  • This competition is only running at the Farm Fest event (22nd-24th May) and can only be entered in person.

  • To enter, participants must guess how many tomatoes make up the Union Flag display on the Farm Fest Stand.

  • Only one entry per person unless otherwise stated.

  • No purchase is necessary to enter. Name and email address must be provided to allow the competition winner to be contacted following the event.

  • Entries must be submitted between Friday 11am on 22nd May 2026 and 6pm on Sunday 24th May

4. Competition Type

This promotion is run as a free prize competition under the Gambling Act 2005.

5. Prize(s)

  • The prize(s) consist of a selection of tomato-themed/decorated prizes – a tomato decorated cap, tomato earrings, tomato print, tomato teatowel, tomato bowl, Charlie & Lola “I will not ever never eat a tomato” book, tomato recipe book, tomato iron-on clothes patch.

  • Prizes are non‑exchangeable, non‑transferable, and no cash alternative is offered.

  • The promoter reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary.

6. Winner Selection

  • The winner with the correct answer will be selected (or the submission closest to the correct answer). If multiple people get the correct answer, a name will be chosen at random from all valid entries.

  • The winner will not be announced during the event. The winner will selected and informed no later than Friday 29th May.

  • The promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into,

7. Winner Notification

  • Winners will be notified via email no later than Friday 29th May. The winner’s postal address will be requested to send the prize via courier.

  • If a winner does not respond within 2 full working day or by Wednesday 3rd June, the promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

8. Prize Delivery

  • Prizes will be sent via courier within 5 working days of response from the winner.

  • The promoter accepts no responsibility for lost or undelivered prizes where incorrect details were provided

9. Data Protection

  • Personal data will be processed in accordance with UK GDPR.

  • Data collected will be used solely for administering the competition unless explicit consent is given for additional uses.

10. Publicity

  • By entering, participants agree that their first name may be used for reasonable publicity purposes.

  • No images of children will be used without parental consent.

11. Event Safety & Conduct

  • Participants must follow all event safety instructions and behave responsibly.

  • The promoter reserves the right to disqualify entries that are incomplete, illegible, inappropriate, or breach event rules.

12. Promoter’s Rights

The promoter may cancel, amend, or suspend the competition where necessary due to circumstances beyond its control.

13. Liability

The promoter accepts no responsibility for:

  • Lost, delayed, or incomplete entries

  • Technical issues.

  • Any injury or damage arising from participation, except where caused by negligence.

14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
