Date: 6 August 2019
The 2019 British Tomato Conference will take place at Chesford Grange Hotel and Conference Centre in Warwickshire on Thursday 26th September 2019.
The main conference event will start at 10:15 on Thursday 26 September, ending at around 17:00. As you will see from the main conference programme, the sessions will be highly relevant and informative, to achieve this we are pleased to have gathered a wide range of excellent speakers. In response to growers concerns, we also have a special section in this years’ conference discussing Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus (ToBRFV) which will present an opportunity for growers to better understand the current and future position regarding this very important issue.
Perhaps just as important as the main conference hall, there will also be lots of chances to visit trade stands, network or catch up with old friends and the TGA team!
On the evening of 26th September, dinner will commence with pre-dinner drinks from 18.30, dinner taking place from 19.30, dress code for the dinner this year is lounge suits.
We are delighted to announce that our after-dinner speaker is Barbara Bray MBE. With a passion for educating people about food and nutrition, Barbara is currently a director of the Oxford Farming Conference, the leading international conference held in the UK for farming and agribusiness. She also sits on committees for both the Institute of Food Science and Technology and The Nutrition Society’s Training Academy. She regularly speaks at food and agriculture events and has recently contributed to debates at the UN Committee for Food Security in Rome on Youth and Women in Agriculture.
Speaking of her recent honour, Barbara says “I’m delighted to receive this award and look forward to many more years educating people about food and nutrition, supporting women in their early careers in the agri-food sector and being a role model for the next generation of black British scientists”.
